Trio Mocotó - Samba Rock

Trio Mocotó is a Brazilian band, originally formed in 1968 in the Jogral nightclub in São Paulo, and reformed in 2000. The group was influential in forming the musical style that became known as samba rock or samba soul. In 1969, they were backing Jorge Ben, being featured on seminal albums Fôrça Bruta, Negro É Lindo and A Tábua de Esmeralda.

In 1971, they had a hit with the single "Coqueiro Verde" (written by Erasmo Carlos). Their return to the studios with Samba Rock in 2001 was followed by tours and live appearance in main music festivals in Europe and Japan, with renewed energy and public. The group received in 2001 the APCA (São Paulo Art Critics Association) award for Best Group, and in 2006 Nereu's album as solo artist "Samba Power" received again the APCA, this time with Best Album of the Year.

In 2011, they collaborated with Mayra Andrade on the song "Berimbau" for the Red Hot Organization's most recent charitable album Red Hot + Rio 2. The album is a follow-up to the 1996 Red Hot + Rio. Proceeds from the sales will be donated to raise awareness and money to fight AIDS/HIV and related health and social issues.

The BAND Seu Pereira and Colectivo 401 represents a new wave of artists from Paraíba. The band presents a work based on the originality of their songwriting with a remarkable poetic force. Hybrid rhythm and songs that depict everyday, they navigate through rock, sambafunk and MPB.

The lyrics of the band are chronic of the lives of real characters, who grind their anguish, desires and doubts in automobiles and crowded groups. The sound of Seu Pereira carries the rocking and the abrupt braking. It is nervous baião, it is samba northeastern rock and Paraíba funk.

With five years of existence, the band Seu Pereira and Coletivo 401 has performed in the main music festivals in Paraíba, and has circulated in several cities of the country, such as Natal, Brasília, Taguatinga, Goiânia and São Paulo. In 2011 he made several presentations in Senegal, together with the group Chico Correa & Electronic Band and in 2012 he made his first trip to Europe.

Planet Hemp is a Brazilian rap rock musical group, known for starting the career of rappers Marcelo D2 and BNegão for its lyrics supporting the legality of cannabis.[1] The band was founded in Rio de Janeiro in 1993, with original members Marcelo D2, Skunk, Rafael, Formigão and Bacalhau. The band broke up in 2001 due to differences between the band members, and Marcelo D2 and BNegão are increasing focus on their solo projects. Since 2013 the band reunited and there are plans for new albums. The group had an explicit position in favor of the legalization of cannabis (marijuana) and was accused of apology to the use, fact that generated many divergences and put Planet Hemp as one of the main bands of Brazil in the decade of 1990. The band returned to to meet on stage on October 20, 2010 at a party organized by MTV Brasil to commemorate the 20 years of the broadcast in Brazil.

Marcelo D2 (born Marcelo Maldonado Gomes Peixoto, November 5, 1967, in Rio de Janeiro) is a Brazilian rapper. Acoustic MTV was the first acoustic album by Brazilian rap and hip hop singer Marcelo D2. The album was attended by his son Stephan, Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas and BNegão, former partner of the time they were part of the group Planet Hemp. This was the third album of the solo career of the singer, being awarded with Gold Disc by ABPD in format CD and DVD for more than 50 thousand and 25 thousand copies sold, respectively.
