Lincoln St. Exit - Heavy Psychedelic Rock (USA)

Lincoln Street Exit's sole album is one of those efforts that's generated considerable attention throughout the collecting community over the years. Formed in 1964, the original line up consisted of Paul Chapman, drummer Lee Herres, singer/guitarist Michael Martin and bassist Mac Suazo. A rarity in that it was one of the few mid-1960s native American rock bands (all four members were New Mexico Sioux) to actively tour and record, the group struggled for six years with little recognition; managing to release three instantly obscure singles during that timeframe.

By the time the band was signed to the Detroit-based Mainstream label, Chapman had died replaced by guitarist R.C. Gariss. Teamed with producer Brad Shad 1970's Drive It! served to showcase material from Martin and non-member Tom Bee. Sure the band's anti-war sentiments ('Man Machine' and 'Time Has Come Gonna Die') weren't particularly original or noteworthy. Similarly their isolated stab at pseudo-Gospel ('Going Back Home') was at best misguided. On the other hand, propelled by Martin's likeable voice, tracks such as 'Dirty Mother Blues,' 'Teacher Teacher' and 'Straight Shootin' Man' offered up a compelling set of blues-oriented hard rock. Ironically the most impressive track was also one of their most commercial effort - the pop-oriented 'Soulful Drifter' (which was released as an unsuccessful single). Gariss, Herrera, Martin and Suazo subsequently continued their musical collaboration, reappearing as Xit recording a series of mid-1970s LPs for Motown.

Jon Langford & The Sadies - Country Indie Rock (USA)

This album, mixing the Mekons and Waco Brothers singer with the Sadies, is an interesting and engaging roots rock and country effort that gets off to a great start with "Drugstore." Rounded out by a definitive roots rock sound in the vein of Blue Rodeo or Gram Parsons, Jon Langford's Welsh lilt adds a lot to tracks like "Looking Out for Radio." The song is a slow, mournful dirge containing a Wilco flare to it courtesy of Bob Egan's pedal steel guitar. The title track also falls into this line of sound, with guitarists Dallas Good and Travis Good supplying a darker twang to the bridge. Perhaps the track that seems most of out place and character has to be the '60s boogie emanating through "American Pageant," closely resembling the Yardbyrds or Them. But the album returns to a slower country flavor on "Little Vampires," a song Mark Knopfler would be jealous of. When Langford opts for a honky tonk arrangement on "What Makes Johnny Run?" he sounds like he's missing the mark. The highlight of the album is "Strange Birds," a number that brings to mind traditional country music with contemporary overtones. The homestretch of the album contains some run-of-the-mill material, particularly the routine flow of "Last King of the Road" that runs out of gas well before its conclusion. "Shipwreck," which features vocals by Sally Timms, has an ethereal and psychedelic tone to it but is surprisingly good. Closing with the road-weary narrative "Are You an Entertainer?" the album is a definite keeper.

Liquid Sky is an independent American science fiction film. It debuted at the Montreal Film festival in August 1982 and was well received at several film festivals thereafter.[2] It was produced with a budget of $500,000. It became the most successful independent film of 1983, grossing $1.7 million in the first several months of release. The film is seen as heavily influencing a club scene that emerged in the early 2000s in Brooklyn, Berlin, Paris, and London called electroclash.

Amidst the bohemian new wave subculture of New York City in the early 1980s, an avant garde fashion show is to be held in a new wave nightclub in Manhattan. Among the models are bisexual Margaret (Anne Carlisle) and Jimmy (also played by Carlisle). Jimmy is Margaret's rival and nemesis. An apparent drug addict, he constantly hassles Margaret's heroin-dealer girlfriend Adrian (Paula E. Sheppard) for drugs but has no money to pay for them...

Three Seasons - Psychedelic Blues Rock (Sweden)

THREE SEASONS have made themselves known as one of the most exciting acts on the psychedelic blues rock scene in recent years. The band’s earlier work has been built on atmospheric melodies, intricate arrangements, and has often included musicians on e.g. Hammond organ and traditional Swedish folk music instruments. Their three albums have been celebrated by fans and media alike, resulting in several sold-out records, top placements on the charts, ecstatic reviews and “Album of the Year” awards.

But although this approach has undeniably been successful, the band is not content just staying the same. Things change, and rather than living on past achievements, the new Three Seasons album is set to provide a renewal of their sound. The music has moved towards that of a hard-hitting, right-in-your-face power trio, and although the influences from the good old days are still clear, they take a whole new shape in the band’s recent work. Sartez Faraj (lead vocals, guitar) and Olle Risberg (bass) have been joined by hugely experienced drummer Thomas Broman (ex. Glenn Hughes, John Norum, Michael Schenker etc.), and the trio is now ready to deliver their fourth album. Between rock solid and dynamic jams, the new sound of Three Seasons is an exciting indication of what’s to come.

Stud - Hard Rock (Finland)

STUD was founded back in 1986, when four musicians who had already played in several different bands teamed up to form one of the period's most aggressive, skilled and loudest rock bands. The band chose to sing in Finnish, which soon established an interest in several record companies. On the very same year the biggest record company in Finland, Finnlevy published the first STUD-single "Mä Haluun Elää" / "Viimeinen Yö", which later became a collector's item among record collectors around the world. After publishing the single, STUD toured frequently. They also appeared in famous Finnish TV show MTV3's Levyraati, and got some airplay on radio as well. The original line-up was ultimately short-lived, and as a new singer came in, the language was changed to English. In 1987 STUD attended Finland's Rock Championship contest, where they achieved a place in the finals, which was quite an achievement for a heavy rock band. Touring expanded across the border, when STUD among the few Finnish bands toured Estonia's largest cities, at a time when Estonia's independence was still around the corner. At the end of the decade, after a new change of singer, STUD planned to record a full-length album, but failed to make a deal with a record company, since new, darker music, had increased popularity in Finland. STUD made their last gigs in 1989, after which the band broke up.

George Benson - Jazz (Guitar)

George Benson (born March 22, 1943) is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter. He began his professional career at the age of 21 as a jazz guitarist. Benson uses a rest-stroke picking technique similar to that of gypsy jazz players such as Django Reinhardt. A former child prodigy, Benson first came to prominence in the 1960s, playing soul jazz with Jack McDuff and others. He then launched a successful solo career, alternating between jazz, pop, R&B singing, and scat singing. His album Breezin' was certified triple-platinum, hitting no. 1 on the Billboard album chart in 1976. His concerts were well attended through the 1980s, and he still has a large following. Benson has been honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Simply one of the greatest guitarists in jazz history, George Benson is an amazingly versatile musician whose adept skills find him crossing easily between straight-ahead jazz, smooth jazz, and contemporary R&B. Blessed with supreme taste, a beautiful, rounded guitar tone, terrific speed, a marvelous sense of logic in building solos, and, always, an unquenchable urge to swing, Benson's inspirations may have been Charlie Christian and Wes Montgomery, but his style is completely his own. Not only can he play lead brilliantly, he is also one of the best rhythm guitarists around, supportive to soloists and a dangerous swinger, particularly in a soul-jazz format. Yet Benson can also sing in a lush, soulful tenor with mannerisms similar to those of Stevie Wonder and Donny Hathaway, and it is his voice that has proven more marketable to the public than his guitar. Benson is the guitar-playing equivalent of Nat King Cole -- a fantastic pianist whose smooth way with a pop vocal eventually eclipsed his instrumental prowess in the marketplace -- but unlike Cole, Benson has been granted enough time after his fling with the pop charts to reaffirm his jazz guitar credentials, which he still does at his concerts.

This is a four piece American band that plays instrumental progressive rock. They were formed in 2012 with drummer Rikki DAVENPORT, guitarist Mark ILAUG, bassist Kyle LUND and keyboardist Chris MALMGREN. They came together with diverse and complex backgrounds and musical influences. Initially the band was supposed to have a vocalist, but he didn't show up at the recording sessions. Beyond the Visible Light was recorded in 5 days and is a adventure with many colors and textures. They show some influences from many bands of the 70's Prog Rock scene with some intrusion in the Jazz Rock genre. Their debut "Beyond the Visible" Light was released in 2014 and is an adventurous listening journey with many colors and textures. In 2015 they released "Fantasy Absent Reason" (vinyl) continuing on the path of sonic textures and soundscapes. Together they have a common goal; to create and perform powerful, colorful, interesting and sonically descriptive music, engaging and pushing forward on the musical journey. 

The band has released a live cd in 2018 containing tracks from the first 2 albums and new tracks for a future release. The live cd will also be release in dvd format later this year.
