Robbie Robertson - Folk Blues Rock

Jaime Royal "Robbie" Robertson, OC (born July 5, 1943), is a Canadian musician, songwriter, film composer, producer, actor, and author. Robertson is best known for his work as lead guitarist and primary songwriter for The Band, and for his career as a solo recording artist.

Robertson's work with the Band was instrumental in creating the Americana music genre. Robertson has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Canadian Music Hall of Fame as a member of the Band, and has been inducted to Canada's Walk of Fame, both with the Band and on his own. He is ranked 59th in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 100 greatest guitarists. As a songwriter, Robertson is credited for writing "The Weight", "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down", "Up on Cripple Creek", "Broken Arrow", "Somewhere Down the Crazy River", and many others. He has been inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, and received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Songwriters.

As a film soundtrack producer and composer, Robertson is known for his collaborations with director Martin Scorsese, which began with the rockumentary film The Last Waltz (1978), and continued through a number of dramatic films, including Raging Bull (1980), Casino (1995), The Departed (2006), The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) and The Irishman (2019). He has worked on many other soundtracks for film and television.

Sinematic is an enthralling set of songs that explore the darker corridors of human nature. The 13 song collection is his first since 2011’s How To Become Clairvoyant, and themes sprang from his recent film scoring for Martin Scorsese’s organized crime pic, The Irishman and his forthcoming documentary Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and The Band.

Ave de Veludo - Blues Rock (Brazil)

In April 1980 at the Idema Theater, Ave de Veludo group gave their first performances of blues. At the time the band was composed of three elements that pleased many nights in the theaters of Bixiga, Cenarte, Oficina and the Procópio Ferreira theater in São Bernardo do Campo (São Paulo).

In July 1981, at a performance at the Cenarte Theater they felt the need for one more element in the band. They got a singer in love with Blues, tweaked the arrangements and after many rehearsals made a short season at the Nações Unidas Theater then went to festivals and some performances at the extinct "Praça do Rock" at Jardim Da Aclimação in Sao Paulo where they were always very applauded.

American Blues - Psychedelic Blues Rock (USA)

American Blues were an American 1960s Texas-based garage rock band, who played a psychedelic style of blues rock music influenced by the 13th Floor Elevators. They are most notable for including two future members of the band ZZ Top in their ranks, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard. From 1966 to 1968, they played the Dallas-Fort Worth-Houston circuit and headlined in three clubs all called "The Cellar", in Dallas at clubs such as "The Walrus" on Mockingbird Lane, and in Houston at "Love Street Light Circus Feel Good Machine" on Allen's Landing, as late as 1968. Around 1968 the band (the two Hill brothers and Beard) decided to leave the Dallas–Fort Worth area, relocating to Houston. At this time, however, guitarist Rocky Hill wanted to focus on "straight blues", while his brother Dusty wanted the band to rock more. Rocky left the band, and the remaining two members joined the recently formed ZZ Top. Rocky Hill continued to tour around Texas, and elsewhere, becoming one of a number of guitarists well-known within the state for their blues guitar prowess, such as Rocky Athis and Charlie Sexton. In this role, his playing in Austin was said[by whom?] to have been an influence on guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan's formative years, as well. He sometimes referred to himself as "The Anti-Clapton", and one writer with the Houston Press called Rocky "perhaps the wildest and scariest – both onstage and off – of all the Texas white-boy blues guitarists.

Mick Ralphs Blues Band - Blues Rock (UK)

The new album from Bad Company and Mott The Hoople guitar legend Mick Ralphs, with his brand new blues band. Many classic rock guitarists release blues albums. As they get older, they want to explore their roots. So they find some friends, select a few blues standards and have fun in the studio for a few hours. But Mick Ralphs wanted to do more than that. He wanted to play the blues live, with a band created specially as a blues unit - not just a pick-up band. Also, he wanted to write new songs, not just play his favourites. As a result, he has created a fresh new band, even though he still tours with the two legendary bands he formed in the 1960's and 70's: Mott The Hoople and Bad Company. The Mick Ralphs Blues Band is Mick Ralphs, guitar; Son Maxwell, vocals and harmonica; Jim Maving, guitar; Dicky Baldwin, bass; Adam Perry, drums. The band has been touring the UK and Europe for two years and has now recorded its first album: "Should Know Better". "Should Know Better" is a live album, recorded at The Musician club in Leicester, England, in April 2013.
