TRAUMHAUS - Symphonic Prog • Germany
Traumhaus biography (http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=2314)
TRAUMHAUS is a German group that evolved out of a mid 90s outfit called ZWEEBACK. The group's name translates to "House of Dreams" and their music combines hard rock with a healthy helping of atmospherics. While the style looks back to many German bands of the 70s and 80s, their use of angular melodies and their native tongue draws valid comparisons to one in particular, ANYONE'S DAUGHTER. NOVALIS and GROBSCHNITT might be other reference points, although TRAUMHAUS is somewhat more rhythmic. The band consisted of Frank Woidich - Organ, Synthesizer, Backing Vocals, Bernhard Selbach - Guitars, Backing Vocals, Bass Pedals, Michael Dorniak - Backing Vocals, Bass, Drums, Alexander Weyland - Vocals, Synthesizer, Piano and Nina Weyland - Guest Vocals.
Up until now they have only one release, their self titled 2001 debut. It consists of 8 songs over 5 minutes long, one of which is an 18 minute epic.
With the understanding that the band's sound had not yet fully developed on their first album, and future releases seem more and more doubtful, TRAUMHAUS is recommended to those who like German progressive rock with heavy guitars and bass balanced by symphonic keyboards.

Depth Charge - Hip Hop Breaks
9 Deadly Venoms is the debut album by Depth Charge, and alias of UK producer Jonathan Saul Kane. The album compiles several 12" singles released by Kane under the Depth Charge name in the preceding five years. Kane is often cited as a forerunner of trip hop and an influence on labels such as Mo'Wax and Ninja Tune. The tracks on the album comprise instrumental hip-hop beats with dialogue and musical samples from films, particularly martial arts movies, westerns and horror films.
Some sources have claimed that the versions of the tracks included on the CD version of the album are shorter edits, and that the vinyl contains the longer, unedited 12" versions. However, this is not the case. Initial copies of the CD version came with a bonus disc featuring extra tracks from the Hubba Hubba Hubba EP.
DARKSTAR - Progressive Metal • Germany
Darkstar biography (http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=3895)
DARKSTAR is a progressive-metal band formed in Dusseldorf, Germany, in 1996.
The band was formed as a side project for members of PSYCHOTIC WALTZ. During that band's 1991 Europe tour, guitarist Dan Rock and drummer Norm Leggio met German musicians Uwe Osterlehner (DEATHROW) and Siggi Blasey. A good friendship was born and they decided to embark on a recording project together.
The project,(END AMEN) was a short-lived idea. Years later, in 1995, PSYCHOTIC WALTZ once again toured Europe. Dan and Siggi met again and came up with the idea of making an instrumental album.
Pre-production was carried out in Dan's bedroom studio. In Siggi's mini-home studio they would also ellaborate the concepts, sounds, and atmosphere of the album. The real recording started soon after PSYCHOTIC WALTZ tour ended. It was done in an old World-War II bunker in Frankfurt, purchased and transformed into "Castle Of Lords Studio" by Siggi.
"Marching Into Oblivion" was DARKSTAR's first album. A few years later, DARKSTAR would release their secons and last album, "Heart of Darkness", in 1999. PSYCHOTIC WALTZ split-up soon after and so did DARKSTAR. There are no plans for a reunion of either band.

Fusion Farm - Psychedelic Rock
The album was originally released very limited on the S.R.T label (Grannie) with a hand-sprayed cover (very much like the original Tony Caro & John). Originals are very very rare and fetching high prices on the collectors market. This reissue also includes the tracks from the rare single "FAT JUDY/GYPSY MOUNTAIN WOMAN". They got radio plays and played a lot of shows in London and the surrounding cities before heading off to Europe and gigging constantly - Germany became a second home, in particular Frankfurt and Munich and they found favor playing at many US Army air bases. They also played the 15000 capacity FRANKFURT FESTHALLE supporting Bad Company and Black Oak Arkansas, who never showed up and a riot ensued and the venue was trashed! The band changed personnel several times but the core of the band and song writing team of Bob Bett and Normal Ley remained constant. The band split in 1979 to pursue other projects.
Great Psych tracks with snotty "Stooges" like songs, great guitars, drums, cool vocals and bass, some tracks are dreamy and some are very powerful British Underground tunes.
The Band:
Norman Ley-guitar and vocals
Robert Bett-singer
Mick Hurst-drums
Graham Thatcher-bass
Nigel Hall-guitar
CHANGING IMAGES - Crossover Prog • Germany
Changing Images biography (http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=6696)
German duo CHANGING IMAGES is made up by Martin Kornberger (keyboards) and Volker Kuhn (guitars, keyboards). The two of them hooked up while playing in a band called Soma in the late 70:s, and from 1979 and onwards they decided to form their own project. Following a string of cassette only productions throughout the 80:s they were signed to French label Musea Records for their official debut album The Castle which appeared in 1991.
While their initial effort was just as much inspired by the symphonic rock of the 70:s as by artists like Tangerine Dream and Christopher Franke, their next production honed in on the latter type of music. This item, Virtuality, appeared in 1992. Five years would go by before the next full length album was released. This time the CD was called The Art of Dreaming, and marked a return to the sound they explored on their 1991 debut. The most recent effort by Changing Images was released in 1999. This was a CD inspired by and dedicated to the S.E.T.I. project, and naturally enough named after it as well.
What this creative duo has been up to following this isn't really known. Their homepage does contain news updates up until the fall of 2008 but nothing of a more recent date. An interview Martin gave in 2005 indicated that both Volker Kuhn and himself have a lot to cater for both in their personal and professional lives, and that the time needed to create music is hard to come by. The current state of affairs for this long lasting project is unknown.
