Amish - Good Hard Rock from Canada

Vasculhando meu HDzão, encontrei este som, bem legal, e com uns teclados Hammond e uma guitarrinha distortion. Meio Hard Rock, e por algunsmomentos lembra o antigo Rainbow. Vale a conferida.

"Amish" foi uma banda canadense formada em 1970 em Ontário, mais precisamente em uma localidade chamada Galt, e nesse local acabou se desenvolvendo uma comunidade "Amish"!!! 

Para quem não sabe, "Amish" são comunidades (ou seitas) de pessoas que levam a vida como se estivessem há uns dois séculos atrás, longe do progresso e das indústrias, eletricidade ou automóveis. Eles lançaram um único álbum auto-intitulado em 1972, que foi distribuído pela Buddah Records, apenas 1000 cópias impresas, produzido por "Mike Theodore" & "Dennis Coffey". Então este álbum torna-se muito inusitado, pois a banda foi formada por músicos que eram admiradores do estilo de vida "Amish". A sonoridade é um típico hard rock setentista com pitadas progressivas/psicodélicas e com um Hammond muito competente fazendo a diferença, o vocal também é bem marcante e poderoso, destaque para a faixa 2 (Black Lace Woman), faixa 6 (Dear Mr. Fantasy) e faixa 7 (Sea). 

Após a gravação de um segundo álbum, que não foi liberado pela gravadora, "Ron Baumtrog" (teclado) foi substituído por "Gery Mertz". A banda continuou por alguns anos e logo se desfez, hoje "Baumtrog" é o Coordenador do MetoKote Canadá, em Cambridge, Ontário; "Mike Gingrich" foi tocar com a "NightWinds" no final de 1970, foi baixista da "Klaatu" de novembro de 1981 até agosto de 1982, "Headpins" e "Holly Woods" em 1983 e "Toronto" em 1984; "Doug Stagg" faleceu em 1999.  (Espaço Prog)

CAB - Jazz Fusion Supergroup

CAB is a jazz fusion supergroup founded by Bunny Brunel, Dennis Chambers, and Tony MacAlpine. Since their formation in 2000, they have released four studio albums and two live albums. Their second album, CAB 2, received a nomination for Best Contemporary Jazz Album at the 2002 Grammy Awards. Other members who have been a part of CAB include Patrice Rushen, Virgil Donati, David Hirschfelder, and Brian Auger.

When asked about the band's name, Brunel said:

“ ...Center Tone Records wanted me to record an album with Dennis Chambers and Tony MacAlpine. [I thought I’d create an acronym of our last names] Chambers, Alpine, and Brunel. I didn’t know that MacAlpine was an ‘M’ and not separate from the ‘A.’ But we thought it was a good way to carry the music... CAB, so we left it like that. ”

Kool and Together - The Black Rock

Where Hendrix’s Band of Gypsys left off is exactly the spot where Kool and Together was born. For the Sanders brothers, the screams of Psychedelic Rock met with Motown’s funky Soul at a crossroads called Black Rock—a mixture of two genres that few were bold enough to attempt and even fewer possessed the technical ability to master. At the same time groups like Black Merda were crafting their take on Black Rock in Detroit, Kool and Together were blazing their own path with distortion pedals and lyrics about social turmoil in the most unlikely of places, a small, dusty town in South Texas. This set collects the best of Kool and Together’s 1970’s recordings including material from their little-heard private press 45’s, demos and an explosive previously unreleased set of Black Rock. While searching for the reel for their Deep Funk classic, “Red Hot Stove,” a trove of unreleased material was discovered and Kool and Together’s true modus operandi became clear. Their impulse wasn’t to follow convention but to build an original, distinct soundscape. Songs like “Get Your Feet Off the Ground” and “I Know” represent a seamless, soulful fusion of Funk and Psychedelic Rock.

Digging deeper into the Sanders family’s demos and home recordings revealed even further evidence of their talent and seemingly limitless inspiration. Recorded when the Sanders brothers were still teenagers, the rehearsal workouts heard on “Escapism Beat” and “Nassau Beat” are some of the most searing, uncut Funk ever caught on tape. By the late-70’s, Kool and Together had shifted their sound, recording and self-releasing prime cuts of Disco and Modern Soul. Included with the essentially unheard singles, “Black Snow” and “Hooked on Life” are stellar previously unreleased demo recordings of the Soul anthem, “Better Days” and the proto-Rap jam, “Blow it Out Your Mind.” Comes with deluxe packaging printed with copper metallic ink and has extensive historical notes and unpublished photos with 13 previously unreleased tracks.

Nosso grande amigo e colaborador Peter Hammil começou a navegar nas águas profundas do Black Metal, e emergiu com esta banda norueguesa Abbath. Embora estranho, vindo de Peter, tem que ser postado aqui!

Abbath (stylized as ABBATH) is a black metal band formed in 2015 by former Immortal guitarist and vocalist Abbath Doom Occulta after departing from Immortal earlier in 2015. The band released their first album, Abbath, on January 22, 2016, and played live for the first time at Tuska Open Air 2015. In April 2015, Metalhammer announced that Abbath Doom Occulta had recruited members to the band, specifically King Ov Hell from God Seed and drummer Creature to participate in the band. They also recruited Vredehammer guitarist and vocalist Per Valla to tour with the band as lead guitarist. During their Debut performance at Tuska Open Air 2015, they played a completed song titled Fenrir Hunts that will be featured on their upcoming 2016 album. Their debut self titled album Abbath was released January 22, 2016 on Season of Mist. On December 12, 2015, it was announced that drummer Creature left the band. Several days later on December 15, live member Per Valla left the band.
